Corporate Plan

Thanks to the people of the Gold Coast for getting involved in ‘Bold Future’ and helping us win three Australian Business Awards for Innovation, Community Consultation and Public Service. Bold Future developed a shared whole of city vision based and crafted from extensive community consultation with more than 11,000 local people.

The Corporate Plan 2009-14 will now put into action the first five years of Bold Future, implementing the vision, principles and themes approved by Council in January 2009. This Plan sets out what Council, on behalf of the community, intends to undertake in support of the six key focus priorities identified in Bold Future:

  1. A city leading by example
  2. A city loved for its green, gold and blue
  3. A city connecting people and places
  4. A safe city where everyone belongs
  5. A city with a thriving economy
  6. A city shaped by clever design

The Corporate Plan 2009-14 will be implemented through Council's annual Operational Plan, which identifies key areas and projects for investment each year.

Deciding the future

A plan to guide the city for the next three decades

The project will take place during the next 12 months. We are now in the research phase and will seek your input over the following months to help develop an agreed way forward for the city in each of the themes – energy, water, beaches, culture, economy, environment, transport, land use and community.

  • Phase 1: Prepare and plan (January 2007 – September 2007)
  • Phase 2: Inspire, engage and research the Gold Coast community (Sept 2007 –May 2008)
  • Phase 3: Independent research firm collates feedback for BOLD FUTURE Advisory Committee who in turn will recommend an agreed way forward for our city.
  • Phase 4: Test, debate and develop a draft direction (2008)
  • Phase 5: Reveal our BOLD FUTURE (October 2008)
  • Phase 6: Embed into Council strategies and Council’s new Corporate Plan (from 2008)
