The next exciting step towards the Gold Coast's Bold Future is here.
With the help of an independent research company the results were collated and now the Bold Future Advisory Committee has handed over to Council the vision for the future of our city.
The committee has set six headline targets that will indicate whether the city is achieving the vision. They are:
- we are recognised as a city of inspired leaders and engaged communities
- native vegetation covers a higher proportion of our city than any other major city in Australia
- our efficient transport system and advanced communication system enable the shortest average travel to work time of any major city in Australia
- our city has the highest proportion of residents who feel a sense of belonging to their community
- we are the employment destination of choice with the most diverse and rewarding local employment opportunities, and
- we are the most liveable and resource-efficient major city in Australia

Community participation in Bold Future
The level of participation was outstanding. The input for Bold Future came from a huge cross section of our community - from businesses to families to community groups and sporting clubs.
When we compare participation in Bold Future with rates of participation in similar cities and national projects we can be very proud of the Gold Coast community.
