Corporate Plan pushes button on Bold Future action
The launch of the Gold Coast City Council's 2009 - 2014 Corporate Plan pushes the button on the first five years of action to achieve the community's Bold Future vision.
More than 11,000 residents had involved themselves in the Bold Future project, sharing their ideas and priorities for the Gold Coast over the next three decades.
The new Corporate Plan sets out the first five years of a 30-year strategy that will secure the economic, environmental and social liveability of our city to 2040."
GCCC Mayor Ron Clarke and CEO Dale Dickson expressed their appreciation to the Gold Coast community for the overwhelming and unprecedented response to Bold Future's public consultation process.

Bold Future won the Innovation, Community Contribution and Public Service categories in the 2009 Australian Business Awards, announced in Melbourne recently.

Green sweep in city's new conservation strategy
A bold new green target for the city has been established with Council aiming to have 55 per cent of the city's land area covered by native vegetation by 2040.
The Nature Conservation Strategy was endorsed by the full Council in May. It will be an essential tool in delivering the Gold Coast's Bold Future headline target of having a higher proportion of native bushland than any other major city in Australia by 2040.
